Dr. Roger Schutt, MD

Medical Director

Dr. Roger Schutt joined Beth Israel Deaconess HealthCare 2009, after spending 15 years in family practice and geriatrics at Carney Hospital in Dorchester, MA. Dr. Schutt currently holds the position of Medical Director with the Beth Israel Lahey Performance Network. In this role, he oversees the Preferred SNF and Homecare network. Dr. Schutt earned his medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, ME, and completed a residency in Family Medicine. He is Board Certified in Family Practice, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and an Advanced Certificate in Geriatric Medicine.

Dr. Asif Merchant

Medical Director

Dr. Asif Merchant is the Chief of Geriatrics for Extended Care with Partners Newton Wellesley Hospital in Newton Massachusetts who specializes in Geriatric Medicine and Hospice/Palliative Care. Dr. Merchant is a board-certified Internist and Geriatrician who brings decades of experience in Geriatric Medicine. He is a graduate of Grant Medical College Maharashtra University of Health Services and completed his Residency at North Shore University Hospital.

Dr. Zidoon Nasser

General Surgeon

Dr. Zidoon Nasser is a Certified Wound Specialist with a background in general surgery. Has ten years of wound care experience working with Vohra Wound Physicians /Regional Lead in MA. Graduated from University of Baghdad College of Medicine Class of 1994, General Surgery training at Baystate Medical Center/Tufts and St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center/Tufts. During his tenure with Vohra, he has held positions in leadership, mentoring, and training. He is currently involved in Shared Learning Sessions as a Chairperson, an educator for the Tenured Fellowship Program, developer of educational content for testing and training material, and is a beta tester for the company-developed EMR program.

Dr. Faisal Hamada


Dr. Hamada is a Critical Care Medicine Specialist with Steward Healthcare servicing Good Sam Medical Center and Morton Hospital. He has over 40 years’ experience in the pulmonary medicine field. Dr. Hamada is a graduate of the College of Medicine University of Baghdad as of 1980. His expertise in Critical Care has been instrumental in the development of our pulmonary rehabilitation program.

Dr. Matthew F. Yuyun


Dr. Matthew F. Yuyun, MD, MPhil, Ph.D., FRCP, FACC specializes in General Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is affiliated with VA Boston Healthcare System, Harvard Medical School, and Boston University School of Medicine. He attended University of Yaoundé 1 Medical School in Cameroon and did his Postgraduate academic training at the University of Cambridge. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Cambridge University Hospitals and his Family Medicine Residency at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital & Northbrook Health Centre. His Cardiology Fellowship was done at University Hospitals of Leicester and his Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center.

Dr. Radha Vijayakumar “Dr. Kumar”


Dr. Radha Kumar is a Board Certified Physiatrist who received her medical degree from Calicut Medical College under Calicut University, Kerala India. She completed a PM&R residency at Boston University Medical Center and did a fellowship in Neuromuscular Medicine/EMG at Tufts Medical Center. She worked as PM&R faculty (Assistant Professor) in Boston University for 9 years and then moved to Pain Medicine – working in non-interventional pain for about 2 years. She developed a keen interest in Geriatric Rehabilitation and has been working as a Physiatry consultant for over 5 years.
