Briarwood’s “Share The Vision” Event: A Full Success!!

At this event, where we announced the Vision of our center, we asked our residents, families, and staff to share their vision for Briarwood, and we in turn took those visions and integrated them them in a time capsule beneath our “Vision Tree”. We planted our “Vision Tree” the night of the event.

Even more noteworthy was at this event we recognized Sam Cornell, a young Needham boy who attends the Tobin school and had the opportunity to visit Briarwood this past school year with his first grade class. At that time, he met an older lady who made an impression on him. When I received a call from his mother 2 weeks ago, she shared that her son Sam had been raising money and wanted to donate it to Briarwood. He felt such a strong connection here and wanted to “help the people that needed medicine”.

This little boy Sam has a heart of gold and we wanted to recognize him for his generous donation and gesture. At our event we gave Sam an ICare employee of the week certificate, along with a wristband, pin and other Briarwood paraphernalia. This is what we give to our staff members who receive recognition for excellent customer service efforts with our residents. Sam helped us pitch the first shovel of mulch into our newly planted tree and was the hit of the event. He really is a special young man and we know he will be back to visit with us soon.
